Are you our new Media & Comms Coordinator?

 

The Queenscliffe Literary Festival's Media and Communications Coordinator is responsible for increasing the profile of QLF through targeted media coverage and the effective use of social media, newsletters, website, and marketing materials.

This is a paid, short-term contract role from early August to early November, with flexible hours that can be managed around other commitments.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Devising media plans for the festival and umbrella events
  • Writing press releases; liaising with journalists, editors, and producers; and soliciting media coverage
  • Writing and designing social media content, and sharing posts in community groups
  • Writing EDMs and maintaining the newsletter subscriber list
  • Designing and arranging distribution of event posters.

Other responsibilities:

  • Tracking media coverage of the festival and its presenters, and copying and filing in DropBox
  • Monitoring social media, responding to comments, and sharing mentions
  • Maintaining stats on social media and EDM results
  • Reporting on media coverage and providing data at monthly meetings
  • Listing QLF events with What's On pages
  • Taking photos at events and doing social media posts during and after events
  • Maintaining archive of festival photos 
  • Writing festival comms report
  • Maintaining the QLF website

Working closely with the QLF Committee and Program Director, the successful applicant will also work well independently and have previous experience in media, publicity or comms roles.
