Jason Steger has had a varied career in journalism, beginning in the UK as a football reporter before working as the electrics editor on a DIY magazine, and subsequently The Financial Times. He is a former books editor of The Age and Sydney Morning Herald and now writes the papers' weekly book newsletter, The Booklist. He was a panellist on ABC TV's The Book Club for 11 years.
